What information this site collects, why, and the choices you have.
This policy explains what information Red Mill Haunted Village (redmillhauntedvillage.org) collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.

- You can read the site without creating an account or giving us your name.
- We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.
- Our planning tools save your choices in your own browser, not on our servers.

- We do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, connected through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to measure visits. Google sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the approximate region you are visiting from, your device and browser type and how you arrived at the site. We see this as aggregated statistics. Google’s handling of this data is described in Google’s privacy policy, and you can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Contact form
When you send a message through our contact form we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The message is delivered to us by email. We use it only to respond and to keep a record of the conversation, and we do not add you to any mailing list. To limit spam, the form keeps a counter based on a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to one hour.
Planning tools
Our calculators, checklists and planners store your selections and saved items in your browser’s local storage. That information stays on your device, is not sent to us and can be removed at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Server logs and security
Like most websites, our hosting provider and our content delivery network, Cloudflare, automatically process technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the time of each request, in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security.
Fonts
The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google’s servers to download them, which involves sharing your IP address with Google.
Affiliate links
Some links lead to Amazon. If you follow one, Amazon may set cookies on your device and will know that you arrived from our site, so that it can credit us with any qualifying purchase. We do not receive your name, payment details or what you personally bought. Amazon’s use of data is governed by its own privacy notice. See our affiliate disclosure.
Comments and accounts
Comments are switched off and visitors cannot register accounts, so we do not collect information for either purpose.
How long we keep information
Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain reasonable records. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of our Google Analytics property. Local storage data stays on your device until you clear it.
Your choices and rights
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, use our contact form and choose “Privacy request”.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
